1. COURSES
At the undergraduate level, students can pursue a Bachelor’s of Pharmacy (BPharm) or a Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharm). The Bachelor’s degree can be completed in four years, while the diploma requires two years to finish.
2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PURSUING PHARMACY COURSES
The two BPharm and DPharm courses require students to complete a science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in their 10+2 exams and must meet a minimum of 50 percent and 40 percent, respectively.
However, students who have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (instead of Biology) are qualified to apply for DPharm.
It should also be noted that students who completed DPharm can also pursue the BPharm.
The BPharm entrances are offered at university and state levels, whereas DPharm admissions are restricted to university levels.
A lot of Pharmacy colleges have their own rules and eligibility criteria, so it’s recommended for aspirants to read their specific guidelines and guidelines.
3. CAREER PROSPECTS
If you’ve completed or BPharm or DPharm and are now employed, the prospects for both are comparable in the sense that they are similar. But, BPharm being an accredited course, is typically considered more desirable than the DPharm.
The completion of any course guarantees that pharmacists are employed in the hospital or a store or as a drug inspection officer at a hospital, in the public sector, in positions in an industry that manufactures drugs or in the education sector, or may open their retail store.
Candidates who have earned an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy are qualified for other jobs, including Food inspector, researcher, analyst, pharmacist consultant, and professor at an institution. They can also work in laboratories for public testing and pharmaceutical companies.
